This method is used for removing the copy protection from a DVD and then shrinking the files to a size able to be placed on a standard 4.7 GB DVD blank. This method incorporates two programs, DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink.
DVD Decrypter copies all of the required DVD files to your hard drive, removing the copy protection and the region settings. Then, DVD Shrink is used to shrink the files to a manageable size and create an ‘ISO’ file which is then written to the blank DVD using DVD Decrypter. An added benefit of either method is that the copied DVD’s can be simply copied using ordinary burner software such as Roxio or Nero.
There are two methods that you can use, backup and re-author. First thing to do is to check if the DVD in question is over or under 4.7 GB. Plug in the DVD and open in a folder.

As you can see, Pink Floyd (Darkside of the Moon, since you asked) is 3.9 GB, a prime candidate for the backup method. Your movie may be over 4.7 GB and will need to be re-authored.
With DVD Decrypter open, insert the DVD. Select mode - file. This is what you should see:

Click Edit and select all. Check your destination (E:\PINK FLOYD\VIDEO_TS\ in my case) and make sure that the drive contains at least 3 times the size needed for the DVD. Click on the icon below
and wait for it to rip. Progress will be displayed.
Next, open DVD Shrink. The Full Disk icon should be selected. Click on the Open Files icon and find the files you just ripped.

As you can see, menus and extras show up. This will be just like the original but without the region settings or encryption. Click on the Backup icon. On the popup screen, make sure region is set to Region free and Target is set to ISO image file and burn with DVD Decrypter.

With a blank DVD in the burner, click OK. Your copy is coming. DVD Shrink will take a bit of time (10-20 minutes) to render the ISO file and then pass it to DVD Decrypter to burn to DVD.
This method creates a DVD with just the movie on it. No menu’s at all. Plug it into your DVD player and it starts the movie right away. There can be some loss of quality because DVD Shrink will normally need to compress the movie to fit on a 4.7 GB Blank. Never noticed a loss of quality, but then I don’t have a high def. TV
Virtually the same as the backup method. With DVD Decrypter open, insert the DVD. Select mode - file. This is what you should see:

Click Edit and select main movie files & IFO’s.

Check your destination (E:\PINK FLOYD\VIDEO_TS\ in my case) and make sure that the drive contains at least 3 times the size needed for the DVD. Click on the icon below
and wait for it to rip. Progress will be displayed.
Next, open DVD Shrink. The Re-author icon should be selected. Click on the Open Files icon and find the files you just ripped.

Select Main Movie - Title 1. It will be placed in the left hand pane. You can check the movie with the preview pane on the lower left. Click on the Backup icon. On the popup screen, make sure region is set to Region free, the Quality settings are set for deep analysis (slower but gives better quality) and Target is set to ISO image file and burn with DVD Decrypter.

With a blank DVD in the burner, click OK. Your copy is coming. DVD Shrink will take a bit of time (10-20 minutes) to render the ISO file and then pass it to DVD Decrypter to burn to DVD.
